William McElcheran
SCULPTOR, ARCHITECT AND PAINTER

In 1961, William McElcheran, "Canada's least-known, well-known artist", as he called himself, was commissioned by the Redemptorists and parishioners of St. Teresa’s to create these art works. The Church has a long tradition of using art and music as means to draw people ever more deeply into prayer. We give thanks for the musicians, artists, sculptors and architects who give glory to God through their skill and talent, and move us to do the same.
There is a Booklet available entitled:
Showcasing St. Teresa's Church
and the Art of William McElcheran
(Architect, Sculptor and Painter)
This Booklet provides explanatory material related to the pictures seen here. Further, it highlights other non-McElcheran work, for example, the Stained Glass Windows, plus it attempts to show the names of our very generous donors.
